28. At Least the Fire Provides Warmth?
Christmas is just a marketing scheme at this point, a way to con all of us into parting with our hard-earned money by buying lavish gifts for everyone else because we’re expecting the same in return. The holiday season starts with Halloween spirits high and the Thanksgiving feast, but by the time Christmas rolls around, the wallet is on a diet, and the bank account just echoes.

It’s a jolly cycle of dress-up, gobble-up, and then… cough it up. The final panel always hits too close to home, doesn’t it? There you sit, surrounded by the ghost of finances past, wondering if Santa accepts IOUs. But hey, at least the memories are priceless, right? Right?!
