#8: Jerry West (1960–1974)
The logo wasn’t just a silhouette—it was a statement. Jerry West averaged 27 points and 6.7 assists per game throughout his career, made nine NBA Finals appearances, and finally won it all in 1972. In the 1969 Finals, he put up 42 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 assists in Game 7… and still lost—yet was named Finals MVP anyway.

He remains the only player to have ever earned that award on a losing team. West wasn’t just a scorer. He defended, passed, and led. Calm under pressure, brutal in crunch time. They called him “Mr. Clutch,” and he earned every syllable.
