Initially advised that starring in Sergio Leone’s trilogy would be detrimental, Eastwood defiantly named his company Malpaso, translating to ‘bad step’ in Spanish—a nod to an ironic prophecy. This coincided with Malpaso Creek on his land, marking a prosperous turn in his career.
