How Different Foods Look Around The World As Compared to the US

It is traditional in the US to make a sweet potato casserole for Thanksgiving, a dish prepared with sweet potato and topped with… marshmallows? That is a strange one, and a bit too much sugar for me. Still, it’s relatively popular.

Outside the US borders, plenty of others have noticed the potential for sweet potatoes as sweet dishes, as it has often been used in desserts. Not with marshmallows, though. In Korea, there is something similar to this casserole called Goguma Mallaengi. These candied sweet potatoes are created by being steamed and dried, then served as a snack.
