#28: Somewhere, the Alphabet Gave Up
This road sign feels like it’s answering a question nobody asked. “A Street” doesn’t inspire confidence so much as mild confusion. Is it the first street? The best street? A placeholder that accidentally went to print? The arrow points decisively, but the name refuses to elaborate.

It’s directional minimalism taken to an extreme. Drivers aren’t guided, they’re vaguely nudged. You half expect nearby signs reading “Another Street” or “We’ll Name This Later.” It’s the kind of sign that makes you trust your instincts less and wonder if the city ran out of letters, patience, or both.
