Natalie Wood arrived in Las Vegas in 1956 as one of Hollywood’s brightest young stars. After growing up onscreen, she had broken free of child roles with Rebel Without a Cause, earning an Oscar nomination and becoming a glamorous symbol of restless teenage America itself.

Vegas was a playground rather than a workplace for Wood, whose greatest triumphs still lay ahead. She later starred in West Side Story, Splendor in the Grass, and Gypsy. Her life ended in 1981 when she drowned near Catalina Island under circumstances still debated today.
