#18: Continuity Errors Were Rarely a Priority
Like many sitcoms of the era, The Bob Newhart Show didn’t obsess over strict continuity. Ages, timelines, and small details occasionally contradicted each other, especially across different seasons.

Rather than worry about consistency, the writers prioritized jokes and character moments. Viewers were expected to laugh and move on, not keep notes. Those little inconsistencies have since become fun trivia, adding to the show’s long-term charm.
