#12: Cloud Bridge – South Korea
What lies ahead feels more like a fantasy than a hike. The Cloud Bridge in Wolchulsan National Park appears mid-ascent after a brutal staircase climb through South Korea’s smallest but most vertical park. It appears suddenly, suspended between stone towers, swaying just enough to startle you.

Mist clings to the edges, and the surrounding cliffs loom close. The journey is as much about getting there as crossing it—because by the time you arrive, your legs are trembling not just from exertion, but anticipation. One gust of wind, and you remember: clouds may be poetic, but walking through them isn’t always peaceful.
