In Cypress, California, Tiger Woods was born Eldrick Tont Woods on December 30, 1975. His father, Earl Woods, was an African American Army veteran with Native American and Chinese ancestry, while his mother, Kultida Woods, was from Thailand and of Thai, Chinese, and Dutch descent.
