#48: Sugary Protein Bars
A protein bar can be useful when a full breakfast is not possible. Yet the word “protein” can distract from a long ingredient list containing syrups, chocolate coatings, sweeteners, and enough sugar to rival a candy bar.

Some bars also contain little fiber, so they may not be as filling as expected. Compare labels and look for a short ingredient list with meaningful protein, fiber, and little added sugar. Nuts, fruit, yogurt, or a boiled egg are often simpler alternatives.
